![]() PracticeFerhan Azman established Azman Architects to work with corporate and private clients in London, New York, Los Angeles, Nice and Istanbul. Her RIBA award-winning practice has a growing reputation for innovative, elegant and effective projects. Alexander McQueen recognised her talent in personally choosing her to design his house as well as his flagship store in London. Her studio’s corporate commissions include Tag Heuer, Vivienne Westwood, Philip Treacy, the Victoria and Albert museum, the Sorrell Foundation, the Barbican and RIBA. “I focus on resolving each space” she says of her trademark approach “whether it’s a villa in the South of France, a retail chain in the US, or a restaurant in London”. She refines each project with the same attention to detail. “it’s the only way to make sure that a project will stand the test of time” she says “so that’s always my starting point – our job is to make sure it is beautiful, too.” Her clients agree. “Ferhan doesn’t give up until it’s right” says film maker Phillip Noyce “her clear-minded creativity is a joy”. The practice is recognised in the Architecture Foundation’s next generation award index of best practices and has been featured in many magazines and books. Ferhan Azman is a visiting lecturer at the Architectural Association.
