BackThe clients’ brief for their recently acquired apartment in a south London warehouse conversion called for a complete remodelling of the layout to significantly improve the use of available space. The inclusion of an open-plan kitchen, en suite and additional bathroom was specified, along with ample display space for objects gathered on their global travels.

To meet these requirements, the large master bedroom is converted into a living and dining room, separated from the new kitchen area by a custom-built partition incorporating shelving, cabinetry and a built-in bench.
A related shelving unit replaces a wall to open up a previously dark corridor leading to the master bedroom. Each of the unit’s custom panels of pre-rusted mild steel and Fire Rated Glass have been individually specified and detailed.
The spacious en suite is an entirely new addition to the apartment layout. Featuring a built-in bathtub, double sink unit, separate toilet cubicle and walk-in shower, it connects seamlessly with the master bedroom via a strategically placed open entranceway and a horizontal internal aperture bringing in natural light.
