BackLocated within the dynamic environment of the Bursa Osmangazi industrial zone, the new administrative wing for Penelope Fabrics is built adjacent to the existing factory building. It has been constructed parallel to the current building with the aim of maximising land use. This proximity has been interpreted as a physical reflection of the connection between production and management, transforming the relationship between the two masses into a key design input.
The primary element defining the building’s architectural identity is the vertical aluminium profile system that wraps around the south, east, and west façades. This linear texture functions not only as an aesthetic outer shell but also as a sun-shading element that optimises indoor working comfort. The aluminium and steel components installed on the reinforced concrete frame establish a technological dialogue with the building’s industrial context.
Vertical light shafts, formed through skylights and internal balconies, filter and carry daylight to the innermost areas of the building. The boundaries between offices, corridors, and common areas are articulated through full-height glass screens and internal windows, which introduce a strategic visual continuity.
Planters intermittently integrated into the interior spaces form the essence of the scheme, softening the industrial atmosphere and creating ‘breathing’ micro-spaces for employees.
The minimalist material palette adopted in the project emphasises the clarity of the space and the strength of its architectural form and order. This limited selection of materials is enriched by controlled daylight, vibrant plant textures, and subtle colour accents. Designed for a team of approximately 40 people, the office, cafeteria, and showroom areas integrate beyond functional requirements into a cohesive working ecosystem that offers high comfort and aesthetic depth.
